The 2015 National Science and Technology Award Ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the People on January 8. Two projects of China Resources Sanjiu came in second place at the National Awards for Progress in Science and Technology. As reported by CR Sanjiu (Ya'an), these were: (i) "live ingredients-based new technologies for quality control in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and their application in medicinal materials and Honghua Injection" and (ii) China Resources Jiuxin's "high-end medical products refined crystalline technology development and industrialization". This is China Resources Sanjiu's first win following its 2013 win for the project, "Shenfu injection quality control and industrialization of key technology", which also came in second at the same Awards. The win underscores the State's full affirmation of China Resources Sanjiu's technological innovation and strengths in industrial research capabilities and core products.
China Resources Sanjiu (Ya'an)'s award-winning project was completed jointly with Peking University. The project proposed the establishment of new technology and paths based on the quality control system of the active ingredients of Chinese medicines. This arises from new technologies identified as separated from the component, an active substance basis, establishment of quality control standards, standard transformation and industrial upgrading and four critical steps. The system details the construction of a comprehensive quality control mechanism for traditional Chinese medicine, which was successfully applied to the injection, tablets and finished products of a safflower injection. This markedly improved the level of quality control and generated significant economic and social benefits, giving a major boost to the standardization and development of traditional Chinese medicine.
China Resources Jiuxin's award-winning project was filed jointly with Wang Jingkang's team from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, using China Resources Jiuxin's independent innovation Xin Tai Lin (Cefazolin Sodium Pentahydrate) as the core product. Combining innovative drug crystalline particles combination technology and green crystalline combination technology, they built a leading crystalline study and industrialization technology research platform. Xin Tai Lin, with its unique chelating structure and stable quality, won a high degree of market recognition, becoming a first-line anti-infection drug domestically and remaining among the top ten in domestic single-factory sales for many years.
